Volunteer Opportunities

We appreciate volunteer help with seasonal tasks. If you are interested in helping with one or more of these, please fill out the simple Google form below, and we will contact you!

March: "dibbling" newly germinated seedlings into plug trays (TPC greenhouse)

April: helping with prescribed fire on TPC and UNI Biology Preserves grounds, including our seed production plots, Daryl Smith Prairie, and Irvine Prairie 

May: transplanting plugs of native plants into seed production plots on TPC grounds; Irvine Prairie transplant day with Craig Hemsath's science students at Union High School. 

June – August: watering and weeding seed production plots. The Friday morning "Weekly Weeders" is our regular volunteer work day.

September: look for opportunities to participate in a "Bio Blitz" at Daryl Smith Prairie.

October – November: seed collection and brush clearing on UNI Biology Preserves and TPC grounds. 

December – March: brush clearing and invasive species removal, as weather allows.
