The Tallgrass Prairie Center will host a field day at the ISU Borlaug Learning Center in Nashua on June 22nd. The field day will be held from 9:00-12:00 and is free and open to the public. A complimentary meal is included.
Practical uses of prairie for water quality improvement efforts and pollinator habitat, stand evaluation, side-by-side comparison of three different prairie seed mixes, 1st and 2nd year maintenance and weed control, and determination of proper seed mixes for site-specific locations will be discussed. This event is for conservation planners, technical service providers, landowners/managers, farmers and those interested in learning more about the role native vegetation can play on farms.
